If you didn't know, I consider myself an artist.
WHAT? ART? I thought you were simply a writer!! Or actor!!
See, that's where you're wrong, mysterious font! I've dabbled in everything, but I specialize in those two!
Welcome to my "ABOUT ME" website page!
ok here we go

This is me and my roommate, Maggie! We had just finished our first shopping trip while living alone, so we took a picture for our parents.
This semester, we're living in Oak Island, NC. Normally, I'm from Charlotte, NC, but home got a bit boring after 18 years in the same place.
After UNC kicked us out, we gathered our stuff and moved to the beach! One of my biggest dreams, though, is to live in NYC, and I hope to achieve that ASAP.
Whether it be eventually transferring to Barnard College or going to grad school at Columbia,
I belong in the Big Apple.
I'm a Journalism and Dramatic Arts major! I'm also a first-year and am a new student in the Hussman School.
As of now, I'm an Arts and Culture reporter at DTH! Check out my stories!
That slideshow is a bunch of pictures that are meaningful to me. Many have been taken in the past year, and I would like to say that's because the self that I am now is my ideal self. Compared to my past self, that is.
So, I'm kinda a poet! Here's a recent one I'm proud of:
driving down pitch black highways
of rural north carolina is
a rite of passage.
no brake lights ahead,
no headlights behind,
just you in a metal death trap.
watching for deer just as it starts to
drizzle.
you hope it stays that,
but it's hopeless to wish for less,
in a hot
north carolina summer.
laden down with useless
carry-ons, the car is
sluggish in its climb to
55mph for the full trip.
you've never had a problem
with speeding,
it's a good thing
you're not starting now.
the serenity is never
bound to last.
soon the charming darkness
becomes a void
where everything it touches
is swallowed by
the black empty of the night,
if you so much as
turn off
the brights.
you see fallen branches
that resemble deer,
reflective signs that
trick you into believing
you're finally not alone,
but it passes and the hope is gone.
travelling the dark, twisty,
highways of rural NC,
just as the skies open up.
Moving on. Here are some things I love:
- Sharks
- French fries
- Confusing people
- Speaking in a bad French accent
- Swimming
- Singing and acting
- Editing
- Reading
- Musical theatre
- Small gourds
- Exclamation points!
I try to be an optimist. Especially as a journalist or actress, the happiness I take from the small things really adds up.
Like in the picture of me and my family at the beach during the hurricane. That was during our joint grandfather-granddaughters
birthday celebration
and we all paused, changed into bathing suits, and ran to the end of the dock where the water had reached. I would say that birthday party was one of the best,
in competition with the whipped cream war (#13), the blanket fort (#10), and the midnight Taki cake celebration (#18, at UNC).
Anyway, I have a lot of aspirations in life, and I hope they all turn out okay.
Whether I end up on copy for The New York Times (it's the dream!!) or acting off-off-Broadway, I hope my life stays exciting.
